Old Lang Zyne
Happy, happy new year! The nail polish I applied in 2002's last early evening hours is already chipped. My hangover is due in about 8 hours, but it's a sensible red wine and good champagne hangover.
Spent the evening at Donna Puma's new home in the WaTo section of Boston (formerly Watertown). The place is beautiful. Her new roommate, an artist and bon vivantski, has an aesthetic that combines with Donna Puma's to create a new, combustible, aromatic, totally irresistable eau de bordello. A faux fur throw on the sofa. A white dove named Zelda in a gilded cage. Candles and a fireplace. A framed poster hangs at eye level at the end of the bathtub for your viewing pleasure, alongside National Geographic magazines and Grimm's Fairy Tales for the reading.
I made shrimp in tamarind sauce, basmati rice, and a fire in the fireplace. Cookie and Nail brought steak and corn-and-clam chowder. Donna Puma supplied the ambience and wine.
Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Now I'm in my writing clothes (photo, top, by Kitty Bukkake) and hoping that you all remembered to wear your brand-new yellow underpants for the lucky New Year!
