beulahbondo's Diaryland Diary

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A quick break to tell you

As Peth remarks in her latest, it can be mighty satisfying to discover, or rediscover, an old musical artist. Ever since the dinner on Friday with the Greyhound and Mr. Chemical Ali-Nixon, in which we beseeched the Aussie Mr. A-N to prove the worth of his homeland's musical talent, and I recallled with chilling clarity my love for the Australian chldren's entertainer Rolf Harris, I have been warbling, "oh, the ladies in the harem of the court of King Karactacus/were just passing by/all together now!"

We granted Mr. A-N Midnight Oil but had to give him negative points for Olivia Newton-John and Men at Work. And it took some doing to convince him that the Wiggles are not a band, and that anyway the Banana Splits did it first and better.

Flippin' like a pancake, poppin' like a cork, I remain,

Yours very truly,

Beulah Bondi-Drooper-and-Snork
