beulahbondo's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Thrill Is Gone Today started off crappy, stayed crappy, but got better. 1. Roofers working on building next door with impressive crane and roaring motor. 2. Physical exam (the lady kind) plus tetanus shot. Ow and ow. 3. A little work. 4. Dentist appointment: two tiny fillings. Ow. 5. Went to Filene's to shop for jeans (mine are getting too short) (okay, and tight). Yuck. Nada. 6. Back to work. But then! 7. Dinner with Donna Puma. 8. A talk/performance by B.B. King in a 250-seat lecture hall. He talked about playing before Negro League games, about being a DJ in the 40s, about how he used to say "alblum" for "album" till some fan slipped a note under his dressing room door, how he plowed cotton fields when he was 7 for 12 hours a day, and about his sky-blue El Camino. An El Camino! I heart him! 9. Home and an email from Christina, who reported that the kindergartners suddenly missed me, two months after I left. She said it went like this: "Where is Ms. Bonds?" --unknown child. " She is in her studio!" Attibelle squeaked. "She is on vacation!!!" Thomas yelled. "Well where is she?" Eli pleaded. She's alive and gloomy, kids! Oh, Calgon, take me away till spring. It's so cold and I'm so prickly and itchy from the dry air. I think Stephanie and I are going to go to Red Sox spring training and ogle Nomar. But until then? 11:06 p.m. - 2004-01-06 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
