Snow Cake

Update: Prima is now eight years old. This is the first Christmas interview we've had since she was 5, I think.

Have you had a good Christmas?
Yes! It's great to be with my family.
Tell me what some people in your family are doing right now.
Now? well, some are eating dessert.
What did you have for dessert?
Hot chocolate and whipped cream pudding pie and snow cake.
What's snow cake?
It's chocolate cookies with frozen whipped cream in a cake form.
What does it taste like?
The cookies taste like chocolate; the whipped cream tastes like water.
So it's like water ice?
Kind of!
What are your cousins doing now?
My cousin Little Scrap, he's not one yet, he is crying at the dessert table. And my cousin Curly, his birthday was on Christmas Eve, he turned four, he's watching Madagascar with my sister Secunda.
Are they enjoying it?
Secunda: "Yes. I like the cake too!"
Tell me about the show you all did after dinner.
Well, it wasn't my idea, it was Curly's and Secunda's. They wanted me to do my karate moves. The show was called "The Trouble wtih Prima." My name is Prima.
The last time I interviewed you was after the Paul McCartney concert you went to. What else has happened in your life since then?
Nothing is as exciting as the concert. I've been wanting to do that my whooooole life. I'm doing basketball; I have to quit dance to do that. I'm not sure if I"ll like it or not.
I know you were a fan of Nicole on "America's Next TOp Model." Tell me why.
Well, before I was a fan of Nicole, I was a fan of Kyle. She was an awesome model. But she got voted off anyway. I don't know why. Because they thought she had a short neck. After she got voted off, the only person I kind of liked was Nicole. Nicole actually won. She was pretty.
Tell me about "Fib Finder," the game you got.
For a late birthday present I got "Fib Finder." They ask you questions like this: "Have you seen (blank) pick her nose?" And you hve to answer it. If a person thought you didn't answer truthfully, like if you were lying, they would put you to the test. You would have to put your thumb on the clear test button, and the other person would put their pointer finger on the other button. After that they would repeat the question loudly. Then they would take their finger off and the person with the clear button would keep it on until the fib finder tells you whether you're being truthful or not. If it says yellow and goes "wha wha whaaaa" they don't know if you're being truthful. If it's red, you're lying, if it's green, you're truthful.
Tell me about some more christmas presents.
I got Playful Pup, which I reaeeeeeely like. It listens to your voice and your command. And I got "Dream Life," kind of a video game. It's awesome too. I also got a some conditioner [Veganese, from Lush] from my aunt Beulah; it was the kind I used at her house once. It smells really good. I got a really really bouncy pogo stick! It's aweSOME. I can do up to 60 jumps at a time. I'm trying to beat that record.

What did you do this afternoon?
I went to the beach. Even though it's winter. My family travelled to Cape Cod for Christmas. That is seven hours away from where we live. We live in New Jersey.

(Dance break while cousins dance to "I like to move it move it" from Madagascar. )

Beulah: One time I was walking with my roommate and I was singing that song and dancing to it, and she was embarassed to be with me, I think.

What did you do in the car ride?
We colored, listened to music, and took naps; some people read. We had a portable DVD player and watched "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" and "Freaky Friday" with Lindsay Lohan.

What do you think of Pee-Wee?
He's kinda freaky.
What do you think of Lindsay?
Lindsay's cool. She's pretty.
